BlackBerry Torch 9800 Price, Specifications, Features & Review
BlackBerry Torch 9800 Review : BlackBerry phones have been the in-thing with a large audience for quite a long time. It certainly can not be argued that BlackBerry phones have their own charm and charisma that hooks consumers to them. Let’s take a look at the BlackBerry Torch 9800, which should live up to everyone’s expectations. As it stands though the smart phone competition is astronomical. Does the BlackBerry Torch 9800 live up to the competition with respect to price and specifications, or does it sink into the abyss of numerous obsolete devices?
BlackBerry Torch 9800 Price in India: Rs.28,000(INR) approx
BlackBerry Torch 9800 Price in USA: $627.44(USD) approx
Processor and RAM:
Processing power has become more and more sought after by consumers. The BlackBerry Torch 9800 disappoints us with a rather weak processor. A simple 624 MHz processor, which works with 512 MB worth of RAM. With such minimal processing power, the overall functions of the phone are bound to be lag and not as sharp as other phones maybe. It is high time that cellular franchises understand that even though there phones may require minimal processing power, a consumer always looks for a phone that’ll respond to his inputs in nanoseconds.
Display and Dimensions:
The dimensions of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 stand at 111 x 62 x 14.6 mm, and the phone weighs in at an overall 161 grams.
The screen of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is a TFT capacitive touch screen that works with 16M colors. The BlackBerry Torch 9800 also has a handful of useful pieces of tech such as the optical track-pad, the multi-touch input method, and my personal favorite; it’s proximity sensor for auto turn-off. The BlackBerry Torch also has a handy QWERTY keyboard with a nice feel to it. The resolution its display works on is 360 x 480 pixels, and the total screen size is at a flat 3.2 inches.
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 comes with 4GB of internal storage, which can easily be upgraded to 32 GB through the usage of a microSD card. The box packing also comes with a 4GB microSD card. Yet is the 4GB internal memory enough to satisfy the majority of the consumers; highly doubtful. Internal memory is a promising asset for any smart phone, the more internal memory a phone allocates, the more it seems that the company cares about its consumer. 4GB worth of internal memory is hardly enough for the type of data that is being saved in phones these days.
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 comes with a primary camera of 5 MP. Certain features of it include geo-tagging, continuous auto-focus, as well as image stabilization. Video recording through this camera can be done at VGA@24fps. The sad part though is that there is no allocation of a secondary camera. The primary camera works with a resolution of 2592х1944 pixels, and is supported by an LED flash. The primary camera is very adequate with its above satisfactory recording and features. Yet not having a secondary camera is very disappointing.
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 packs a standard Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery. This battery allows for up to 336 stand-by time. In regards to talk time, this battery allows for up to up to 5 h 40 min. Music play can last for up to 30 h. The battery is nothing much to speak about it, but it is not terrible as well. At most it is satisfactory and would be more than enough for more consumers.
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is surely a phone that a consumer wouldn’t mind having. Yet at the same time, it is not a phone that you MUST have. In light of this, it can safely be said that this phone is simply satisfactory.
