Unlock iphone 5 on iOS 6.1.3
The iPhone 5 when released was Apple’s game changer in the smartphone industry. It came at a crucial and it lived up to most of its expectation. Though the disappointment of Apple not really changing the Iphone model still persisted, we set that aside due to the overall fun experience of using the iPhone 5. However if you have a factory locked device and you want to use a different carrier on your iPhone 5, you’ll have to unlock your phone to be able to do that. There are many methods to unlock your iPhone 5 but the factory unlocking method takes precedence over any other process. We will be discussing the other methods as well however.
Factory unlocking the iPhone 5
To factory unlock your device you will need to get in touch with your service provider and tell them to do it for you. The process isn’t lengthy or hard but it does require to pay a fee upfront. However your phones IMEI gets registered in the Apple database as an unlocked device and you do not lose your warranty. A factory unlock also guarantees that you will not face any problems in the future such as your phone getting locked again. The ordeal is permanent and it is the best way to unlock your device.
GEVEY SIM unlock
The recently released FalWok gevey sim will also unlock your phone, it also requires you to buy and plug the sim into your sim tray. However unlocking your phone through this method will nullify any warranty that you may have on your device. After you initially insert your Nano FalWok sim you will be required to run a one time only installation. After that installation is done you can use any carrier that you want on your Iphone 5. The Nano FalWok does get the job done, but it isn’t recommended over the Factory Unlocking method by any means.
All other unlocking methods for the iPhone 5 on 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 have not been properly implemented nor has there been any thorough testing. The SAM activation method does not work for the iPhone 5 due to activation tickets not being compliant with the Iphone 5 baseband.
