The Motorola Atrix takes on the Samsung Galaxy S2 in a grueling battle to see which smart phone comes out on top. Both these companies have been on the smart phone scene for a while now, and neither one seems like its holding anything back with their respective phones. Both these phones are powerhouses of quality and elegance manufactured to fit into the palm of its consumers. Let’s take a look and see how they fair against one another.


Processor and RAM:

The processing unit in any phone is a very key factor to the overall back bone of its requirements. Let’s see which processor between the two packs more of a punch. The Samsung Galaxy S2 has a Dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor, which is linked with Mali-400MP GPU, and further supported by the Exynos chipset. The Motorola Atrix on the other hand has a Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor that works with the ULP GeForce GPU, and is integrated with the Tegra 2 AP20H chipset. The upper hand goes to the Samsung Galaxy S2 with the slightly more powerful processor, even though both processors are quite powerful. In regards to the RAM allocation both the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Motorola Atrix have 1 GB worth of RAM allocation. The deciding factor has to be the .2 difference between the two smart phones. The Samsung Galaxy S2 wins by a small margin in this regard.

The Motorola Atrix comes with 16 GB worth of in-built memory, which is upgradeable to 32 GB through the usage of a microSD card. The Samsung Galaxy S2 has two different packages when it comes to in-built memory. Either a 16 GB option or a 32 GB option, the 16 GB option is obviously viable to upgrade via a microSD card. Camera:

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has an 8 MP camera, that tops out at 3264×2448 pixels, and accompanied with LED flash. The Motorola Atrix however has a much weaker camera which is of 5 MP that works at 2592х1944 pixels and also has LED flash. When it comes to video recording, the Samsung Galaxy S2 records at 1080p at 30 fps, while the Motorola Atrix records at 720p at 30 fps. The Motorola Atrix is defeated once again purely on the basis of higher numbers being exhibited by the Samsung Galaxy S2.

Battery:

The Motorola Atrix wields a standard battery, Li-Po 1930 mAh that allows for up to 9hrs of talk time. The Samsung Galaxy S2 however has a standard battery, Li-Ion 1650 mAh which allows for up to 8hrs 30mins of talk time. The Motorola Atrix takes the slight advantage in this regard with a more powerful battery.

The overall differences between the two phones aren’t really staggering. Yet the Samsung Galaxy S2 performs marginally better then the Motorola Atrix due to its more powerful processor, and much better camera functionality. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is the clear winner between these two phones.
