Samsung Galaxy S4 vs HTC One – Smartphone Comparison

HTC and Samsung are both about to launch their top notch phones in the upcoming months. The Samsung Galaxy S IV and the HTC One, while Samsung has had a much larger amount of sales then HTC. HTC has been known to release entertainment oriented phones, such as the EVO 3D. In terms of competition however, Samsung has always had the upperhand on HTC. HTC recently announced that it will not be offering the HTC One for Verizon users as a marketing tactic to avoid competition with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S IV.

With both the phones lined up to launch soon, we can only wait and see which one comes out on top in regards to sales. However we can go through the specifications between the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One to see which smartphone has more to offer.

Display

Both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One have entertainment oriented large display screens. The Samsung Galaxy  S IV has a Super AMOLED 5 inch display that works at a resolution 1080 x 1920. The HTC One also has a Super AMOLED display, however it is marginally less in size to the Samsung Galaxy S IV, coming in at 4.7 inches working at a resolution of 1080 x 1920. In terms of display the Samsung Galaxy S IV and HTC One the Galaxy S4 comes out on top by very little considering that both the displays are technically the same.

Processor

Samsung has taken smartphone processor integration to a whole new level by incorporating two quad processor units in the Samsung Galaxy S IV, a quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 and a quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor. Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S IV has a 13 megapixel front camera that works at a resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels. Considering the cameras that are incorporated in todays prominent smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S IV has gone above and beyond what is the norm. The HTC One however only offers an obsolete 4 megapixel camera that works on a resolution of 2688 x 1520 pixels. HTC decided to lower the quality of their camera and whether or not this was a good move is still up for debate. However in terms of comparing the two cameras, the Galaxy S IV wins by a landslide victory.

Memory

The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes in three different types which offer 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage capacity. The 16GB and 32GB versions are both upgradeable to 64GB via the use of a microSD card. However the HTC One does not allow for storage capacity alteration and only offers a 32GB version and a 64GB version. The Samsung Galaxy S IV allows for users to have many more options regarding how much storage capacity they want. In terms of RAM allocation, both the Samsung Galaxy S IV and the HTC One have 2GB’s of RAM. However because the Galaxy S IV has more customization options with their storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy S IV wins in regards to memory

Conclusion

The HTC One is a great smartphone and it will be a top contender in the smartphone world for the year of 2013. The Samsung Galaxy S IV however tops mostly everything the HTC One has to offer. From the double processing power to the difference between the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy S IV is the safer choice in terms of buying options.
