Jailbreak iOS 6.0 Using Redsnow 0.9.15 b3 on iPhone, iPad, iPod
Jailbreaking is one of the most popular trends in the iPhone using community, and jailbreak developers have flourished ever since the iPhone first saw the light of this world. Redsnow, is one of the most prominent and oldest pioneers in the jailbreaking world and they have offered a lot to many iPhone users throughout every software and hardware update! Jailbreaking the iOS 6.1 is also possible using the Redsnow 0.915b3 software for only the following: iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS and the fourth generation iPod Touch.
Before we indulge in the actual jailbreaking process, there are few things you should make certain of! First and foremost, make sure that all your data is properly backed up! Also you should make sure that you have properly upgraded your firmware to 6.1 iOS using iTunes, do not use OTA as it may disrupt the jailbreaking process!
We hold no responsibility or liability for any damage that may occur to your device while following the steps in this tutorial, anything that happens will be completely your own responsibility. With that in mind let’s proceed to the actual jailbreaking process!
Step 1: Download the 6.0 iOS firmware to your computer, this needs to be done because RedSn0w 0.9.13b5 doesn’t support iOS 6.1.
Step 2: Download RedSn0w 0.9.15b3
Step 3: Connect your device to your computer and shift it to DFU mode!
Step 4: Now open Redsnow, select extras and then Select IPSW and then select the 6.0 IPSW you previously downloaded. If you can not find the IPSW, you either downloaded the wrong version of the IPSW or the wrong version of Redsnow! Once you select the 6.0 IPSW Redsnow will recognize it properly, click okay and then return to the previous menu.
Step 5: Hit the Jailbreak option and then wait for the process to finish, it will take time so be patient!
Step 6: Once the process is complete put your smartphone back into DFU mode! Confirm the firmware to be 6.0 and then select Just boot at the top of the screen in extras. This will perform a tethered reboot for your device!
Once your phone has rebooted you should be able to see Cydia available on your Springboard, congratulations you are now Jailbroken on 6.0!
