Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 Using Evasi0n 1.4
The 6.1.2 IOS update came rather quickly after the 6.1 IOS mostly because of the glitch fixing that needed to be done. The 6.1.2 IOS firmware was shortly after jailbroken and the jailbreak was then publicly made available. The 6.1.2 evasi0n fully untethered jailbreak is available for any Apple device except for the Apple TV 3, the 1.4 Evasi0n jailbreak is the version that you will require for jailbreaking your respective device.
Be assured that jailbreaking does not usually cause any harm to your smartphone, but taking a few precautions never hurts. Make sure all of your data is properly backed up and you have sufficient battery power for the jailbreaking process. Once you have made certain that everything is in proper working order we can begin the jailbreaking process!
Step 1: Update your device to the 6.1.2 firmware via iTunes!
Step 2: You will need to make sure that any passcode lock on your smartphone is deactivated before starting the jailbreaking process! You can do this by going to Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Off.
Step 3: Download Evasi0n 1.4 which has added support for IOS 6.1.2!
Step 4: Connect your device to your computer via USB cable!
Step 5: Run Evasi0n 1.4 and hit the “Jailbreak” option and now you can spend some time doing other activities while the jailbreaking process commences! It is important that you not tamper with your device or the Evasi0n software running on your computer while the jailbreaking process is being undertaken!
Step 6: Do not be alarmed if your device reboots numerous times, that is how it is intended to work. Until your device reboots into its jailbroken state, let it be! Once the device is rebooted into the jailbreak configuration you can now unplug your device from the computer!
Congratulations, your device is properly now jailbroken on the 6.1.2 IOS and Cydia should now be visible to you on your Springboard!
